Hypothetical Question - We haven't done this in a while!
Would you rather go a week without bathing, but be able to change your clothes, or a week without a change of clothes, but be able to bathe?

California declares second hand smoke a pollutant!
This is great news! Lets hope the rest of the country follows suit!!!http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/11048609/
I have a problem
Admitting that you have a problem is the first step to resolving it, right?I have a problem. I have not yet taken down my Christmas tree. It still looks really good....but a bit out of place now that it is more than a month since Christmas. Just think...if I take it down now...I just have to put it back up in ten months.
What a dilemma! Aren't you glad your problems aren't this big?
Happy Friday!

Next Blog
I am addicted to the Next Blog button on blogger. It is the button in the top right hand corner of most blogger pages. In fact, I get really annoyed when people remove that button from their pages...but I digress. As I was randomly reading some of the next blog pages I found the following article and I really liked the sentiment.I have always believed that life is a journey through a series of paths. Each of it is determined by the choices that we make. And the people we meet in life are a direct consequence of this. Everytime we have a difficulty or a task at hand to accomplish, life presents to us a helper to get through the task, a person who would happen to be travelling along the same path. We along with this person travel along this path clearling one or more hurdles and in the process having a great time. And as life is a series of this, there might appear a fork when reasons unknown, the path that person needs to take might not be the same as the one that that we need to follow. This is an indication that the need of that person in our life is over. that person would have to carry on with life and we will have to carry with life on ours. There will be more situations to handle on our paths. for which we will meet newer people who then will travel the journey of life with us till it seperates once again.....I dont say that this theory is true by any extent...this is something I just keep telling myself whenever I part ways with someone...Our plans, choices, situations have put us on two different routes and we have to move on...... and the only thing that we will ever have are the memories of our time spent travelling the same path... and I , for one, will surely cherish these memories as the best....ever...''
I have some decisions (not ready to discuss them in a public forum quite yet but I will soon) to make in the following weeks and it is amazing to me how this just appeared randomly through the next blog button. I always say that I have found that everything in life happens for a reason. This is proof positive for me that God does answer your prayers when you ask for guidance...of course he has hit me over the head a few times when I haven't asked and should of as well!

A few thoughts....
I got these quotes in an e-mail today. I found them quite appropriate considering my comments about Chardonnay earlier in the week!"Sometimes when I reflect back on all the wine I drink I feel shame Then I look into the glass and think about the workers in the vineyards and all of their hopes and dreams If I didn't drink this wine, they might be out of work and their dreams would be shattered. Then I say to myself, "It is better that I drink this wine and let their dreams come true than be selfish and worry about my liver." ~ Jack Handy
"I feel sorry for people who don't drink. When they wake up in the morning, that's as good as they're going to feel all day " ~Frank Sinatra
"When we drink, we get drunk. When we get drunk, we fall asleep. When we fall asleep, we commit no sin. When we commit no sin, we go to heaven. So, let's all get drunk and go to heaven!" ~ Brian O'Rourke
I thought these were funny - not that I am telling you to go out and drink - just thought in light of my recent posts these were good!

Commander in Chief
I know I have said it before....but I love this show. I have been catching up on my shows I have missed (thank you TiVo!!!!) and I just watched the first two episodes since the show came back on in January. They were awesome. Take your opinion about Hillary Clinton out of the picture for a moment....it goes to show you that a woman can be an effective president...i can't wait to see life imitate fiction!Base jumping
So I am watching the new Queen Latifah movie the other day...and I finally found something that I think might top skydiving....base jumping. Anybody in?Blood drive
I gave blood yesterday. Please realize that this is accomplishment for me as I hate needles with a passion...which the lady in the bloodmobile said is a good thing...lol! I have decided that except for the fact that I need to keep some of my blood I could do this every day. It was nice to go outside, lay down for thirty mintues, watch tv, have some one bring you a coke in the middle of the workday...very relaxing. Yeah...there was that needlestick...but it only hurt for a second ;)Starbucks withdrawal
Oh yeah....did I mention since leaving California I have been in Starbucks withdrawal???? Maybe that is why I have been so tired???Thursday, January 19, 2006
More about L.A.
I have to admit I have been very tired this week...it has taken me a week to catch up at work from being out a week...and I was out on business....working the whole time. I hate to see what it is going to be like when I am out on vacation. I say that to say this...though I have been very tired this week...I have also been very lazy and haven't taken the time to post lately. So my apologies. Now on to bigger and better things. There is going to be some good info in this post along with my anecdotes about L.A....so keep reading! We arrived in L.A. late last Monday. Stephanie, her daughter, and I went to grab something to eat and got to bed about 2:30 am (remember 3 hours later my time). This was fine except that the A.Es wanted to take us to see The Tonight Show with Jay Leno so we had to be in Burbank (about 30 min away) at 6:00am. Not much sleep. We had a business lunch (I tried tuna tar tar...a sushi type dish...and very good!) and then met for the show....which was awesome!!!! I thought that it would be fun...but I had no idea how much fun. The band was awesome. Gave me a much needed burst of energy to complete the night. Joaquin Phoenix and Alanis Morisette were guests. Joaquin was sick and you could tell that he did not want to be there while Alanis was blonde! Can you believe it??? That night we went to a Brazilian place for dinner. It was awesome!!!! They kept bringing meat to the table...any type you could imagine....lamb, beef, chicken, pork ....all wonderful...as was the wine (I think I drank almost a whole bottle that night)...I told you earlier I love Chardonnay!
The next day we had another business lunch....yep, we had to work a little while we were there. My goal was to try new things and I really wanted to try fish tacos but I thought probably not the best idea at a business lunch...so I tried a spinach melt...open faced sandwhich with spinach, mushrooms, tomatoes, and bell peppers topped with cheddar cheese. Before lunch, I did get to meet our administrative assistant who is currently out on maternity leave. Got to hold her baby boy, Vincente. He was born the same day as Annagrace and is adorable! Later, the whole team met up for a motivational speaker. I thought...oh boy, naptime....cynical me. It was really good. We discussed personality styles and it was a great presentation. I learned that I am a driver amiable...meaning I am going to push to get where I need to be...may even push you down to get there....but I will look back and ask you if you are alright. What is cool is that my boss had the same style! From there we went to a great seafood restaurant in Malibu for our "Christmas party". It was awesome....calamari to die for...the best crab legs I have ever eaten...and a little more Chardonnay :)!
Thursday was spent in meetings (some good things came from those meetings for me personally...look for more news soon...before having dinner at P.F. Chang's...which I love....yum before taking the red eye home....I really think that is the way to go....slept the whole time...woo hoo.
Needless to say I loved L.A. If it just cost a little less to live there I would be there in a second! If you have never been, please resolve to go at some point...I can't wait to go back!!!!

How right on is this?
You Are Mexican Food |
![]() Spicy yet dependable. You pull punches, but people still love you. |
This baffles me!
We played Trivia Pursuit 90s Edition at the New Years parties I went to a few weeks ago. One of the questions prompted some discussion and the outcome really irritated me. I know I should have the question and I will try to find it and post the exact question because I don't have the details, but I will summarize and provide the discussion that followed. The question was what politician found his house covered in a giant condom after he made the remark that all people who had AIDS deserved to get it. Unfortunately, I don't remember that answer. It is important to remember that this happened in the early 90s when we did not know what we do today about the disease.
The first response to the question was that the question made on of my fellow party goers mad. I responded that it should make you mad. The conversation should have ended there. However, my friend continued to explain that it made her mad because of the babies that were born with AIDS obviously had no control and did not deserve to get the disease. She followed up by saying that the comment did not make her nearly as upset if you took the babies out of it. I was in shock. I don't care who you are or what you have done no one deserves AIDS or any other disease for that matter. The implication that drug users or homosexuals deserve AIDS as some kind of punishment blows my mind...and the fact that people today still agree with these comments baffle me!!
Pat Robertson
I will apologize in advance for today's first couple of posts....need to rant a bit!Have you read the latest comments from Pat Robertson?
Pat Robertson publicly told the world that Israel's Prime Minister Ariel Sharon's stroke was punishment for "dividing God's land." He followed up by stating "God considers this land to be his. You read the Bible and he says 'This is my land,' and for any prime minister of Israel who decides he is going to carve it up and give it away, God says, 'No, this is mine.'''
This is the most ridiculous thing I have ever heard. Ariel Sharon is 78 years old. A stroke is to be expected for someone this age.
I will tell you this, the producers of The 700 Club need to bring Pat Robertson back in line. He is giving Christians a bad name. I realize that there will be times as Christians that things we say based on the Bible will irritate non-Christians....but all Christians....and especially Christians in such a prominent position as Pat Robertson have a responsibility to apply logic to their interpreations of the Bible. Logic tells me that as a 78 year old man, Sharon is nearing the end of his life and a stoke would not be totally unexpected.

Delayed Posting
Sorry for the delayed posting!!!I kept thinking that if I could just make it to January then things would slow down!!
I made it through New Years weekend. I went up to meet Annagrace on Friday and stayed until Saturday afternoon. I went back to Hartsville for a New Years Eve party at Pam and Rachel's. Because New Years was on a Sunday and we didn't have to work on Monday we had another party at Roger and Michelle's. Michelle made some awesome cosmopolitans. I normally don't like fruity mixed drinks....but dang these things were good....might have had a few too many :)
I did rest some this week....only because I was so exhausted that I couldn't move. Back on the go this weekend though...getting ready for my trip to California this week. We leave tomorrow...woo hoo! I think I just about have everything together....guess I will find out when I get there!!!
I promise to blog while I am there. Hope that 2006 finds you well and that this will be your best year ever!!!
