I'm coming into the 80's
I am having a landline phone installed tomorrow. I haven't had a landline since I was in college. I don't even own a phone any more. I sold the last one I had in a garage sale before I moved out here. Gotta run to Wal-Mart and buy a cheapy. I am having it installed for two reasons - neither of them actually involve speaking on the telephone. One - I need to have the fax machine hooked up so that I have that ability on days I work from home. Two - I need it to complete the initial setup on my TiVos. I haven't been able to hook them up because I didn't have a phone line. I didn't want to bother anyone else because you have to hook them up to a TV and a phone line and they can't be unplugged for 8 hours after setup. I am not that excited about the phone line...but I can't wait for TiVo!!!

We have Tivo,but I never use it. My hubby is the gizmo guy. He loves it.
The fax machine was the only reason we kept a landline too. It's great for those "I can't come into work / I don't want to get out of my PJ's days"! LOL...
Are you going to share the #??????? I may want to fax you HAHAHAHA :)
I have a Tivo but you don't need a landline to continue using it. If you have a wireless network set up in your house, you can get a little do-hickey to connect to the USB port in the back of the Tivo and VOILA... Tivo with no phone line.
But I have a phone line for my DSL. Hehehe
