A change from the hypothetical...

Many times I have posed a hypothetical question to my readers...I thought it might be fun to have some getting to know you questions for a while....here is the first:

My favorite childhood memory is of our family vacations to Maggie Valley. Of course that was when we were still a family, and still had time to spend with everyone...

we were a large family of 7...5 kids so any vacation was an ordeal, however, my parents faithfully took us camping every year. Real camping. I don't know how excited i would be to do it now, no running water, eating off a fire, bathing in a ice cold stream and walking a mile to use the restroom at the campground, but when i was a kid it was fun, exciting and it was great quality time.

I miss the family time we used to spend together before everyone got so busy and consumed in their own lives...

When my father taught me how to ride a bike. Grandma bought a cheap bike at a yard sale. My father of couse was ticked that she bought a piece of crap knowing she had money to buy a decent one. Needless to say he ended up fixing it. He was so aggrivated when he was finished that he sat me on the bike gave me a firm push down a hill and said peddle!! HAHAHA We still laugh about that to this day. I screamed of course yet peddled my heart out! Made me feel good that he believed in me and had no doubt that I would be able to do it.

Yet now I tell him when he gets older and is in a wheelchair I'm going to do the same to him HAHAHA

Like "smeggs" one of my favorite memories is of the times spent in Maggie Valley in the summers. Of all the vacations taken until the time I graduated high school maybe 2 of them weren't to maggie valley.
of course, i couldn't narrow it down to just one so the other would have to be the summer of '82 when i was just about to turn 4 we went to Atlanta to watch the Braves play the Dodgers and I remember wearing a visor (of course my mom put it on me) that said "i hate the Dodgers" and all the people that passed me just pointed and thought it was the cutest thing.

My favorite childhood memories include travelling with my Grandparents. We started going to Lake Texoma (on the botder of Oklahoma and Texas) every summer when I was 2 or 3 years old. We would swim, boat, fish, ski (even though every summer the boat seemed to have a problem) and I would sleep in the bed above the table in their trailer...I miss those days!
